Strong appearance, more dynamics: The BMW 1 Series with H&R coil over suspension
The 1 Series, the most compact member of the family, is also the most affordable entry into the noble BMW world. And as befits a BMW, there are countless equipment options, entry-level model or not. There is also a wide range of engines, from three cylinders in the 316 to a six-cylinder unit with 300 hp in the M135, even with the option of all-wheel drive. Only the suspension has repeatedly given cause for criticism in many tests in the past.
With the H&R Monotube coil over suspension now available, however, this should be a thing of the past once and for all. Precisely tuned to the 1 Series, the infinitely variable height adjustment enables individual adaptation to the driving dynamics requirements. The lowering of the vehicle’s centre of gravity (30-50 mm) ensures a more direct steering response, while the body’s lateral inclination is noticeably reduced when cornering at speed. Nevertheless, the payload remains at standard level and the ride comfort is suitable for long journeys!
With the optionally available TRAK+ wheel spacers made of high tensile-strength aluminium, both standard and aftermarket wheels can be aligned to the fender edges with millimetre precision.
If it is a leasing vehicle, all H&R suspension upgrades can be rebuilt without trace, of course, should the lessor request the delivery condition of the vehicle.
All H&R components always have the necessary part approvals and are made in Germany!
